Not much to post

Terrible weather, its been  28 to 32C each day, very 'muggy' and thunderstorms every day in the late afternoon/evening that completely 'blows' the "Free-to-air" TV viewing and even shuts down the satellite TV transponders!

A little bit of Australian colour to brighten up your day, courtesy of Joanna Fincham as part of a photo essay for "Outback" magazine:

I've seen weather like that before, where the little dishes lose their signals.
Stay safe!

PS We haven't been able to get "free to air" since before Christmas. It is always being scrambled by the "big guns" down in the States.

Some of us are expecting an early autumn and a wet but warmer winter this year. This constant evening thunderstorm, cool night, foggy and dewy morning and then a warm and humid day is really making the things grow - Can't recall seeing this country so green!

We are in the process of shutting down one FTA system (nationally) and switching to FTA digital but it's so easily disrupted by atmospherics that it call for a digital satellite dish, rather than an antenna array and then the storms knock out the satellite repeater towers. We've got 'Pay TV' as well (which includes Fox and ESPN) but that's full of repeats and weird sports like darts and curling!

We have a dish and it frequently goes out. Our "air" stations haven't come in for quite a while, thinking we need new antenna cable.

We had a chilly wet day here, it wasn't nice either.

Trouble with the 'Dish' antenna are that they are truly 'line-of-sight' to the transponder tower and anything - a flock of birds, can interfere with the signal.

Aus Govt is currently rolling out a National Fibre-optic Broadband that will bring cable internet and TV to every home - well, 95% of homes! lol!
